Punjabi Singers Surinder Shinda, Jasbir Jassi, Harjit Harman, Hardeep Singh, Lehmber Hussainpuri, Balkar Sidhu, Pammi Bai & Simmie Live enthralled audience of Aryans Group of Colleges on its 15th Cultural Extravaganza “Rajni”. The program was organised in association with “Folk Attack”. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group, presided over this virtual event & over 5000 Students & Alumni of Aryans Group attended the function.
The legendary singer Surinder Shinda performed on “Jatt Jeona Morh”, “Putt Jattan De”, “Truck Billiya”, “Balbiro Bhabhi” and “Kehar Singh Di Mout” etc. The Singer, lyricist, performer and actor Jasbir Jassi performed on “Dil Lai Gayi Kudi”, “Koka”, “Kudi Kudi”etc & entertained the audience.
Famous artist Harjit Harman entertained students while performing on “Sajan Milde”, “Chadar”, “Gal dil di” etc. while artist Hardeep Singh performed on “Shauk Jawani De”, Gallan Karariya etc. entertained the audience.
Famous artist Lehmber Hussainpuri performed on “Sadi Gali”, “Mannke”, “Jatt” etc. & made the audience to tap on their feet. Balkar Sidhu entertained the youth of Aryans on “Mela” & “Mombattiye” etc.
The energetic performance of Pammi Bai on “Jatt Punjabi”, “Mirza Sahiba ” & “Boliyaan” enthralled the audience with hit Punjabi music and dance. The exhilarating and energetic performance of Simmie Live on “Tera Yaar Bolda”, “Lak Tunu Tunu” & “Mukhda vekh ke “as a tribute to Surjit Bindrakhia entertained all students & faculty members. Standup Comedian Mr. Harry Verma was the moderator of this event.
It is to be mentioned that every year “Roshaan” & “Rajni” cultural functions are organized at Aryans campus with great enthusiasm. Roshaan is dedicated to fathers while Rajni is dedicated to mothers of all students.

Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh celebrated virtual Baisakhi with great fervour and gaiety in association with Mantav Media, Chandigarh. On this occasion, Bigg Boss 13 fame, renowned actress & fitness blogger Ms Dalljiet Kaur interacted with the Aryans students of Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Management, Education and Agriculture. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group congratulated the actress & presided over the event.
Students & faculty of Aryans enjoyed Vibrant and exhilarating folk dance Giddha and Bhangra with Dalljiet. Dhol beats and Punjabi folk music added to their excitement to the moment. It was a treat to see the students dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional outfits.
Dr. Garima Thakur, Deputy Director, Aryans Group was the moderator of this event. She apprised the youngsters about the rich culture and heritage of Baisakhi merriments.
It is to mention that Ms Dalljiet kaur is a part of prestigious 27 television shows and has worked in top TV channels including ZEE, Star plus, Sony, Colors etc. She has participated in “Bigg Boss 13” & was also the winner of Famous show “Nach Baliye”. World Health Day celebrated at Aryans
Dt. Gandhi addressed Aryans students on “Building a fairer, healthier world”

On World Health Day, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh in association with Fortis Hospital, Mohali organised a webinar on this year theme “Building a fairer, healthier world”. Dt. Sonia Gandhi, Head, Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Fortis Hospital interacted with the faculty members & Aryans students of Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Management, Education and Agriculture & spoke on “Good Nutition :- Need of the Hour”. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
Dt. Gandhi while interacting with the students said that in view to keep our immune systems healthy during the corona virus pandemic, proper nutrition is an absolute must. The immune system protects us from pathogens & the connection between the pandemic and our dietary habits is undeniable, she said.
Gandhi said that Along with social distancing measures and effective vaccines, balanced diet is a key towards healthily life. Although not a replacement for medicine, good nutrition can work synergistically with medicine to improve vaccine effectiveness, reduce the prevalence of chronic disease and lower the burden on the health care system, she motivated.
While answering the student’s questions she said that the food for COVID-19 patients should be fresh and hot. Foods that are rich in antioxidants like leafy vegetables, carrot, pumpkin and capsicum, food rich in Vitamin C, egg white for proteins and a handful of dry fruits are recommended. Oily foods should be avoided or minimised as gastric reflex may arise, she added.
It is to mention that since 1950, World Health Day has been celebrated on the 7th of April of each year. The objective of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“T20 Avengers Cup” open cricket tournament launched by Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club & Aryans
With the objective of promoting sports and youth services in the state, the Punjab Secretariat Cricket Club (PSCC), in association with Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized “Avengers Cup”, T20 open Cricket tournament, Today, where around 16 teams from tricity would be participating.
In a brief program, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble C M, Punjab & Chief Patron, PSCC, Mr. Gurinder Singh Sodhi was the Chief Guest while Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges was Guest of honour. In the opening ceremony, the official jersey of the club was released in the function by distinguished guests at Punjab Civil Secretariat. Later, in the closing ceremony, Dr. Kataria presented a memento to Mr. Sodhi.
While addressing the players, Sodhi said that besides working in the offices, the employees should also be aware of their health. Sports play a very important role in a person’s life and make a person healthy and optimistic. He said that he himself cycles 50-60 km per day which keeps him fit. He apprised the members, players & guest about the achievements of PSCC in previous years.
Kataria while motivating the players said that Aryans always look forward to spread educational services in the state as well as to encourage the youth towards sports & for Avengers Cup, the Group is a major contributor to the PSCC jersey. He assured the players and the team management that he would continue to be associated with the club in the future and strive for the better performance of the club from time to time.
On this occasion, president, PSCC & team captain, Mr. Bhupinder Singh said that his team has been practicing for a long time and many tournaments will be played with different teams in the coming days. The Treasurer and Coordinator, PSCC, Mr. Naveen Sharma, said that his team is able to compete with any professional team and is participating in the “Avengers Cup” starting from 3rd April. The team is in high spirits and will play to give good results. General Secretary, PSCC Mr. Neeraj Prabhakar, Press Secretary S. Gurpreet Singh and S. Gurveer Singh were also present on the occasion.

Indian Nursing Council extends Punjab admission cutoff dates to 31st March

Keeping in light the current situation in the country owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi has extended the last date for getting admission into various Nursing Courses till 31st March, 2021 for Academic Year 2020-21, in Punjab, as per recent notification. This will be a golden opportunity for the students & this decision will go a long way towards enabling more aspiring candidates to apply comfortably within the newly declared last dates.
Dr. Rajinderjit Kaur Bajwa, Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh said that demand for these paramedical courses has increased post Covid as the increase in number of patient with variety of diseases and the demand for immense treatment has paved the way for Nursing Professional to provide better quality to human health care.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while giving more information said that the institute is already running GNM & ANM courses successfully since 10 years & now the B.Sc. Nursing program has been included with an intake of 60 Seats from the current session. The demand for nursing professionals has risen across the globe since the Covid-19 outbreak, and has put nurses in a very bright spotlight, he added.
It is to mention that, the B. Sc. Nursing has been introduced from this 2020- 21 academic session in Aryans Institute of Nursing which is approved by the Government of Punjab & Punjab Nursing Registration Council (PNRC) & affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

Webinar on Seed Production of Horticultural Crops held
Department of Agriculture, Aryans Degree College Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a webinar on “Seed Production of Horticultural crops”. Dr. Allah Rang, HOD (Retd.) Dept of Plant Breeding and Genetics Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana & presently Managing Director, Biocarve Seeds where he exporting large quantity of flower seeds to American and European countries since 2008. He interacted with faculty members & the students of B. Sc. & Diploma Agriculture. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
Dr. Rang while interacting with students said that the production of high-quality seed is fundamental to modern agriculture. Seeds can serve as the delivery system not only for improved genotypes but also for new planting and production methods and crop protection strategies that improve the overall efficiency of agriculture and reduce its environmental vagaries he explained.
He further said that the purity of any commercial product propagated by seed begins with the genetic purity of the seed planted. Genetic purity standards have been established by seed certification laws and state seed certification agencies to assure growers that the seed they buy is accurately labeled with the correct crop and variety. Seed purity standards also specify the percentage of contamination in seeds, he added.
He explained that seed producers take many steps to protect genetic integrity, including ensuring the integrity of their planting seed, properly identifying and labeling plants and fields, planting seeds on clean land. Removing undesirable plants and employing physical isolation via mesh cages, distance isolation, hand pollination to ensure that pollination only occurs among plants of the desired variety, he told.
