Minority Scholarship Schemes (2026-27)
The Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), Government of India, provides financial assistance to meritorious students from notified minority communities. These schemes are designed to support students from economically weaker sections, ensuring access to quality education from Class 9 up to the Ph.D. level.

General Requirements:
- Academic Performance: Minimum 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
- Documentation: Must provide a self-declaration of minority status, a valid Income Certificate, and a Bonafide Certificate from your institution.
Financial Benefits
Scholarships comprise two main components:
- Admission & Tuition Fee: Reimbursement provided directly to the student for course-related fees (amounts vary based on the specific course and scheme).
- Maintenance Allowance: A monthly stipend provided to assist with living expenses, calculated based on whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar.
Important Application Guidelines
- Official Portal: All applications must be submitted online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in/.
- Registration: New applicants must complete the OTR (One Time Registration) process on the NSP portal.
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): All scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the student’s Aadhaar-linked savings bank account. Please ensure your bank account is KYC-compliant and active.
- Deadline: Application windows generally close by October 31st annually. We encourage students to apply well before the deadline to avoid technical congestion.

- Register: Visit scholarships.gov.in and complete the OTR process.
- Login: Use your login credentials to browse available schemes.
- Submit: Complete the application form and upload scanned copies of your mark sheets, income proof, and institutional documents.
- Track: Regularly check your application status via the “Student Login” dashboard.
