AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme (GATE/GPAT/CEED)

The AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme provides financial support to meritorious students pursuing full-time postgraduate programs. Eligible students receive a monthly stipend of β‚Ή12,400/- to support their academic pursuits.

Eligible Programs

The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the following full-time programs at AICTE-approved institutions or university departments:

  • M.E. / M.Tech
  • M.Arch
  • M.Pharm
  • M.Design (via CEED)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Valid Score: Must be admitted with a valid GATE, GPAT, or CEED score at the time of admission.
  • Full-Time Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a full-time, AICTE-approved PG program.
  • Exclusivity: Must not be receiving any other scholarship, salary, or financial assistance.
  • Exclusions: Foreign students, sponsored candidates, and management quota admissions are not eligible.

Single Availment: Students who have already availed the scholarship once are not eligible, even if re-admitted with a new score

Scholarship Details

  • Amount: β‚Ή12,400/- per month.
  • Duration: Valid for 24 months or the duration of the course (whichever is shorter). This is strictly non-extendable.
  • Work Responsibility: Recipients are required to contribute 8–10 hours per week of academic work, which may include:
    • Tutorials or lab assistance.
    • Supporting faculty in R&D activities.
    • Library and central facility maintenance.

Leave Policy

  • Casual Leave: 15 days per academic year.
  • Medical Leave: Up to 30 days per academic year.
  • Maternity Leave: As per Government of India norms.

Application & Payment Process (2026-27 Update)

  • Application Portal: Applications are processed through the official AICTE PG portal: https://pgscholarship.aicte-india.gov.in.
  • Timeline: The application window typically opens in September each year. Students must obtain a unique Student ID from their respective institutions to apply.
  • Payment Method: The scholarship is disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  • Mandatory Requirements:
  • Students must have an Aadhaar-linked savings bank account in their own name.
  • Joint, Jan-Dhan, no-frill, or transaction-limited accounts are not permitted.
  • Bank accounts must remain active throughout the duration of the course.

Important Conditions

  • Academic Conduct: Scholarship is conditional upon maintaining satisfactory academic performance and adherence to institute rules. Misconduct, including ragging, will result in immediate discontinuation.
  • Course Completion: Students must not leave the course midway. In such cases, the full scholarship amount received must be refunded.
  • Deadlines: No claims for scholarship will be accepted after 1 year from the date of program completion.
  • Documentation: Ensure you have your valid GATE/GPAT/CEED scorecard, fee receipt, and Aadhaar-linked bank details ready. OBC-NCL and other category certificates must be valid (issued within the last 1 year).
