India Will Be a Superpower by 2047:
Chandigarh, October 14
AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam Seminar on “AI & The Future of Man-Machine Collaboration” Organized by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh
India is on course to emerge as a global superpower by 2047, powered by innovation, skill development, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), said Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He was addressing a seminar on “AI & The Future of Man-Machine Collaboration” organized by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh, and presided over by Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges.
Prof. Sitharam emphasized that “AI for All — empowering minds, transforming lives” must be the guiding principle for the future. “The power of intelligence should not be confined to machines or a few minds, but shared with every human being to unlock a smarter, fairer, and more inclusive world,” he said. “Nations that will truly lead are those that teach their citizens to think freely, learn continuously, and act ethically.”
Highlighting AICTE’s initiatives such as AI for All, Faculty Development in AI and Data Sciences, and the Smart India Hackathon, Prof. Sitharam noted that these programs have proven how large-scale capability building can be achieved with both speed and inclusivity. He further mentioned that AI could transform nearly 38 million jobs by 2030, primarily through productivity gains and new opportunities in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and manufacturing.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, said,
“We are proud to host visionary leaders like Prof. Sitharam, whose outlook on an AI-driven India resonates deeply with our mission to prepare students for the future of technology and innovation. At Aryans, we believe education must evolve with time — blending AI, ethics, and creativity to shape responsible global citizens.”
Prof Sitharam also informed that India is hosting “AI Impact Summit 2026” and this event is scheduled for February 19–20 2026 in New Delhi, which will be the first-ever global AI summit hosted in the Global South.
The seminar brought together faculty members, students, and industry experts to explore how India can harness AI to enhance human potential, develop ethical frameworks, and ensure equitable growth.
Prof. Sitharam concluded by urging academic institutions to integrate AI literacy at all levels of education, preparing the next generation to innovate responsibly and contribute meaningfully to India’s vision of becoming a technologically empowered superpower by 2047.
