Dr. Anshu Kataria graces All India Sangeet Sammelan as Guest of Honour

In a musical delight for Tricity residents, the Pracheen Kala Kendra (PKK), a strong proponent of Indian classical arts, hosted the 52nd edition of the annual All-India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan. Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA); Fderation of Self Financing Technical Instituitions (FSFTI) & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges & Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group were Guests of Honour.
Prominent among the participating icons of music were Prasad Khaparde (Vocal), Geeta Mahalik (Odishi dance), Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan (sitar), Rukmini Vijaykumar (Bharatnatyam) Pandit Satish Vyas (santoor), Pt Chetan Joshi (flute), Pandita Anuradha Pal (tabla), Kumar Sharma (Kathak dance), Pt Dharam Nath Mishra, Mithilesh Jha, Azad Ali Khan.
Dr. Kataria congratulated entire team of Pracheen Kala Kendra & while appreciating their efforts said that the Kendra has been organising the festival for the past more than five decades now and has groomed many a legend in their respective fields. “The sammelan is an impassioned endeavour by the Kendra to give a fillip to music with Vocal, Instrumental and Nritya, he added.
On the occasion Dr. Kataria honoued internationally renowned Padamshree Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan who gave a ‘sitar’ recital. It is to be mentioned that the Kendra, established in 1956 has been engaged in the promotion, preservation, and dissemination of Indian classical arts as well as imparting education, training, and conducting examinations in the field of performing and visual arts since its inception.

AICTE lifts moratorium for starting new colleges from 2023-24
Land exempted for Colleges only covered area required. PUCA welcomes the move
New Delhi/ Chandigarh March 23rd
While giving the biggest ever relief to Technical Education, the apex body, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi has done away with the land requirements for starting/ running Technical Institutions.
Now on the basis of the covered area along with Floor Area Ratio (FAR) & Floor Space Index (FSI), one will be able to start or run the technical institutions.
AICTE has also lifted the moratorium for starting new colleges from 2023-24. It is to be mentioned that since last many years there was a ban on starting new technical institutions in the country.
While welcoming the initiative, Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI) & Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh said that AICTE has given new lease of life to the technical institution across nation. Kataria also appreciated AICTE for giving the relaxation on maintaining the faculty against those seats which are not filled.
Kataria further added that with the surplus land, now the colleges will be able to utilize that land for other projects which will give big financial relief to the technical institutions of the country.
Sh. R.S. Munirathinam, Patron, FSFTI (Tamilnadu) has also welcomed approval process handbook 2023-24 & mentioned that AICTE has implemented the New Educational Policy 2020 in letter & spirit. These big reforms would change the way the Technical Institutions work which will revive technical education across nation. This will also enhance the culture of education among Technical Institutions & will help them to work in collaboration with each other in a coordinated manner for the betterment of society.
He said that while launching the Approval Process Handbook for 2023-24, AICTE has announced that the existing institutions willing to take AICTE approval for their technical programme will also have to obtain approval for all technical programmes offered. If it is found that any institution has taken partial approval, then their approval accorded shall be subsequently withdrawn. The submission of online applications for academic year 2023-24 will begin w.e.f March 23 till April 6, 2023.
Sh. KVK Rao, General Secretary, FSFTI (Andhra- Telangana) while welcoming AICTE initiatives said that AICTE has also increased the maximum approved intake from the current 300 to 360 in engineering and management programmes, and from 180 to 300 in computer application programme.
Now onwards the merger of different PG diploma and MBA programmes will also be allowed as long as the student-teacher ratio is maintained. Also engineering institutions must have at least three core branches already and unlike previous year’s institutions can apply for multiple programmes from the 2023-24 session.

International Day of Happiness celebrated by Aryans
Mohali 20th March
With the aim to highlight the importance of mental and physical well-being and to improve happiness, International Day of Happiness was celebrated by students & faculty members of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Aryans students including Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Education, Agriculture etc. participated in various activities. A recreational tour was also organized on the occasion.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group highlighted that Aryans Group of Colleges feels privileged for being recognized & awarded at national level as happiest institutions in India during the awards institutionalized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), hurtfulness Education Trust (HET) and Your One Life (YOL) in Hyderabad.
He further mentioned the significance of happiness as a universal goal and a fundamental human right. It highlights the importance of mental and physical well-being and encourages individuals to take steps to improve their happiness, added Kataria.
It is to be mentioned that The International Day of Happiness is celebrated throughout the world on 20 March. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly on 28 June 2012. The International Day of Happiness aims to make people around the world realize the importance of happiness within their live.

Aryans Students pay tribute to the Shaheed Bhagat Singh
Mohali, March 22nd
To pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh participated in various activities at Campus. The students wore yellow turbans as a tribute and honour to the freedom fighter.
Dr. JK Saini, Director, Aryans College of Engineerig mentioned that the death anniversary of three heroes of our nation namely Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru on 23 March 1931 is recognized as a Martyrs’ Day. On the occasion students also sang patriotic songs, recited Poetry & also participated in Slogan writing.

Cypress College, Canada Joins hands with Aryans
Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh and Aryans Overseas in association with Cypress College, Canada organized an interactive session for study abroad aspirants. Mr. Upendra Vasdeva, Director International Enrollment & Ms. Jaya- Head, International Marketing – Cypress Colleges were the keynote Speaker of this seminar. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over.
Upendra while addressing, mentioned that in Countries such as Canada and the US had a backlog of visa processing which is likely to clear by the fall of 2023. In Canada a total of 46,539 invitations were issued in 2022 under the Express Entry. Canada is currently facing huge backlogs of visit visas pending for more than a year.
He further added that according to IRCC’s presentation at the Canadian Bureau of International Education Conference in November 2022, they processed over 7 lakh study permits globally in 2022 and plan to process over 1.1 million study permits by 2026. IRCC is getting ready to handle the backlog of visit visa applications, added Upender.
Jaya further said that the students can join Canadian Colleges through Aryans, resulting into huge saving in the Cost of Education. Also she mentioned that there is no application fee, 6 intakes available & Placements for all eligible students. If fullfilling all criteria, the students may be eligible to apply for LMIA work permit after the completion of first year at Cypress, she added.
It is to be mentioned that Cypress College is a Business Career College based in Medicine Hat, Alberta with an additional campus in Brooks. The college offer diploma programs in Administrative Technologies, Computer Technologies, Business Management, Marketing & Communications, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts Certification and have served Southern Alberta since 2002.

National Pharmacy Education Day celebrated at Aryans
To commemorate the 121st birth anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff, to recognize his contribution in establishing pharmacy education in India, Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura Near Chandigarh celebrated as the National Pharmacy Education Day. On the occasion various activities were organized & the B. Pharma & D. Pharma students participated enthusiastically.
Dr. Krishan Singla, Principal, Aryans Group while addressing students said that Prof. M.L. Schroff is recognized as the Father of Pharmacy Education in India. He certainly remains an ideal to all pharmacists working in the country irrespective of their branches and diversity of duties. Pharmacists are critical professionals in delivery of healthcare in the country as they bring in-depth knowledge of medicine composition, formulation and usage. The role of a pharmacist is gradually evolving from a dispenser of medicines to an expert in the field with multidisciplinary health care systems, added Saini.
On the occasion various activities were organized including Speech Competition, Poster presentation where students highlighted importance of pharma education for well-being of the society. A student rally was also organized to create awareness about misuse of narcotics & psychotropic drugs.

Aryans celebrates International Women’s Day with Holi festival
Aryans Group of Colleges & Rajpura, Near Chandigarh & Aryans Overseas celebrated International Women’s Day on this year’s theme “Embrace Equity”. To make it more special, the festival of colors, Holi, was also celebrated at Aryans campus. Female students and staff were seen participating in various activities on the occasion.
Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group highlighted the role of women being acknowledged as equal in all the domains of the society. From the earliest days of computing to the present age of virtual reality and artificial intelligence, women have made untold contributions. we have a chance to create a better future not just for women and girls, but for all humanity and all life on Earth, she highlighted.
The female students & staff wore colorful dresses & participated in dance, antakhshari, modeling etc. Sweets were also distributed among staff. Known as the festival of colors, Holi is celebrated on the last full moon in the lunar month of Phalguna while international women’s day is celebrated on March 8 bringing attention to gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

Aryans organises Nukkar Natak on world day for Social Justice
To highlight the importance of World day for Social Justice, Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a Street Play. Aryans LLB & BA LLB students participated & portrayed various social issues & acts for woman on this year theme “Overcoming Barriers and Unleashing Opportunities for Social Justice”
Dr. Garima Thakur, Deputy Director, Aryans Group while addressing said that this Nukkad Natak’ highlighted the status of women in Indian society and focused on the violence they face at home and outside in the forms of domestic violence, eve-teasing, and rape, to name a few. Millions of girls and women around the world face injustices, like being denied an education, forced into an early marriage, or made victims of gender-based violence, added Thakur.
Further Mrs. Navneet Kaur, Head, Aryans College of Law added that various injustices prevent girls and women from reaching their full potential. It is necessary to promote women’s participation in employment and ensure Economic and social protection, unemployment, ill-health, maternity, child Bearing, widowhood, disability and old-age. Hundreds of audience witnessed this nukkad natak.
It is to be mentioned that World Day of Social Justice is marked annually on February 20. The main goal of this day is to raise a voice against social injustice and to bring together diverse communities around the world in an effort to eradicate poverty, physical discrimination, gender inequalities, religious discrimination and illiteracy, and create a society that is socially integrated.

Aryans BA LLB Students shine in Punjabi University Patiala Results
Mohali 5th February
Law students of Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh, brought laurels to the college in the examinations conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala.
In BALLB, 4th semester examination, Adarash bagged 1st position with 72.8%, Charanjeet bagged 2nd position with 72% respectively and Hardeep bagged 3rd position with 71.2% marks.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group congratulated the students and faculty for the hard work. He said that Aryans students are doing well not only in academics but in sports, innovations, cultural also. Such excellent results by the students add more name and fame to the College, added Kataria.
It is to be mentioned that Aryans was the only Law College in the region to be associated with Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in the years 2019,2020 and 2021.For the first time, Pearson VUE on behalf of Law School Admission Council (LSAC) has made Aryans College of Law the Exam Centre for Law School Admission Test (LSAT). The score of the test is being used by famous law schools of America & Canada i.eHarward, Yale, Stanford University, British Columbia, Chicago etc.

PGI, Chandigarh & Fortis, Mohali conducted Blood Donation & Health Check-Up Camp at Aryans
Mohali, Jan 28th
Aryans Institute of Nursing and Aryans College of Pharmacy with the support of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh & Fortis Hospital, Mohali today organized a Blood Donation & Free Health Check Up Camp at Aryans Campus, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Deepika, Senior Resident, Dept. of Blood Transfusion, PGI; Dr. Manjeet Singh Trehan, MBBS, MD, Additional Director- Internal Medicine, Fortis Hospital & Dr. Tanya Sharma, Medical Officer, Aryans Group. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event.
A 7 members team of blood transfusion from PGI, Chandigarh under the leadership of Dr. Deepika conducted a thorough medical checkup of voluntary donors and selected the eligible donors to donate blood. A 3 member team from Fortis Hospital conducted a free health check-up Camp.
Dr. Deepika & Dr. Trehan appreciated the special initiative taken by Aryans to provide health care services to meet the needs of the Indian population & also to meet the immediate health care needs of the marginalized community through this health camp. They also applauded Aryans for reaching out to the needy people with health solutions.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while motivating the students said that a person can save 3 lives from 1 unit of blood. He added that these camps are a great boon to the patients in emergency need. Kataria added that the objective of the camp was to encourage more people to come forward. Frequent blood donation will help in reducing the risk of cancers and preserve cardiovascular health. Donors also have a much lower risk of falling prey to life-threatening diseases, added Kataria.
Mrs. Nidhi Chopra, Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing further informed that over hundreds of people along with their children from nearby villages visited the camp and underwent health checkups by the team of specialist doctors and were given consultations and medicine free of cost. A total of 30 Units of blood were collected and health check-up of around 110 villagers, Students and staff was done.
Dr. Krishan Singla, Principal, Aryans College of Pharmacy added that “None of us can survive without blood in our body and Blood Donation is a service to society”. He appreciated the students who donated their blood. “It feels good when people come forward for a noble cause, especially when we see enthusiastic feeling of youngsters for mankind” he added
