Interactive session on leveraging intellectual property rights held at Aryans

Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh, organized a  virtual workshop on “Role of Intellectual Property in Innovations & Value Creation”. Mrs Pooja Kumar, Women Entrepreneur, Founder Director; Innove Intellects, Patent agent, Govt. of India & Dr  Shweta Sen Thalwal, Founder, Intergrum IP, Mohali interacted with the faculty members & Aryans students of Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Management, Education and Agriculture. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.

Mrs. Kumar said that everyone around the globe is suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic and several industries are trying to overcome the economic turmoil. However, few industries like the mask, infrared based thermometer, PPE Kits, online meeting tools, media streaming, non-contact-based systems, pharmaceuticals, and few others have witnessed growth in licensing activity, sale of patented product & technology, she explained.

Dr. Shweta made a detailed presentation on encashing intellectual property rights for competitive advantage. She briefly explained types of Intellectual rights, trademarks, parents, copyrights etc. Underlining the need for protecting innovations through IPRs, she highlighted drawbacks of not protecting their intellectual property. She also explained various important factors including self commercialization, licensing, direct sale of technology etc. to a prospective buyer.

VC, MRSPTU, Bathinda addressed Aryans Faculty

A six days online faculty development program (FDP) sponsored by  All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) & Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda  on “Development in Construction Engineering” organized by Department of Civil, Aryans College of Engineering, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh was inaugurated. The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, Bathinda. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the program.  Hundreds of faculty from various engineering colleges across nation registered as participants.

While addressing all faculty members Dr. Buta Singh said that faculty development programs  provide teachers the opportunities to learn and develop skills through the sources of self-efficacy. This program will definitely boost the Faculty members, budding engineers, researchers, and academicians to adopt the techno logical advancement in their field, take up the innovative research and develop new technology in order to meet the challenges ahead in civil engineering applications.

In the week long program, various topics like recent trends in structural engineering fibre reinforced concrete, green building, hydraulics, soft computing techniques, geotechnical investigations advanced surveying will be discussed by various experts including Dr. Umesh Sharma, Professor, PEC, Chandigarh; Dr. Chandan Ghosh, Professor, NIDM, IIT, Kanpur; Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Professor, NITTTR, Chandigarh; Dr. Rohitashw Kumar, Dean, SKAUST, J&K; Dr. Binu Sukumar, Professor, RMK Engineering College, Tamilnadu etc, said FDP convener Dr. J.K. Saini.

Health Department, Punjab organizes Free Covid Testing camp at Aryans

In the wake of steep rise in Corona cases, a special free Covid 19 testing camp  was conducted to spread awareness on the measures to prevent the spread of pandemic at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. This day long camp to conduct RT- PCR (Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction) was organised in association with Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab.

The staff, faculty members, workers and residents from nearby villages including Alampur, Nepra, Thuha etc. gave their samples for the testing. More than 80 samples were collected in this camp. The camp was led by Dr. Pawandeep Kaur Assistant Medical Officer,. Community Health Centre, Kalomajra along with Mr. Hitesh Kumar; Mr Bharambath Singh, Pharmacy Officer & Mr. Jasbir Singh, Helper, Kalomajra.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group  said that We organised this camp due to the recent uptick in the number of COVID -19 positive cases. The testing could help in establishing the status of COVID situation in the campus. The  staff and community members to strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to stave off the transmission of infection, appealed Kataria.

Dr. Pawandeep Kaur said that we received a good response from both the staff and locals and got more than 80 samples today. College management has been able to successfully organize the testing camp. She appreciated the efforts of college for organising the camp.

Valedictory function of AICTE-MRSPTU sponsored Faculty Development Program held at Aryans

To provide the faculty members with an opportunity to acquire knowledge about current technological developments in field of Pharmacy, a 6 days All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) & Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda sponsored online faculty development program on “Advances in Pharmaceutical Research” was organized by Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. After Completion, the valedictory program was graced by Dr. Indu Pal Kaur, Chairperson, University institute of pharmaceutical sciences (UIPS), Panjab University Chandigarh as Chief Guest & Dr. Balwinder Singh, Director, College Development Council (CDC), MRSPTU as Guest of honour. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the program.

During the week, various pharma experts including Dr. Suresh Kumar, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr. Sumit Biswas, Department of Biological Sciences, BITS PILANI, Goa, Dr. Zakir Hussain, College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, Dr. Arpita Pandey Tiwari, Department of Stem Cell & Medical Biology, DY Patil Education Society, Kolhapur, Mr. Rajesh Chopra, Plant Head, Panacea Biotec, Dr. Jagmahender Sehrawat, Pharmaceutical Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh etc. addressed all participants.

It is to be mentioned that hundreds of faculty from various pharmacy colleges across nation registered as participants & core research domains, including pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical biotechnology, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics, Nanotechnology etc.  During the closing ceremony the participants were honored with the certificates. With the aim of developing the pedagogical and research skills of various faculty members, a 6 days All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) & Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda  sponsored online faculty development program on “Advances in Pharmaceutical Research” was organized by Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Dr. Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, Professor, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest & Dr. Ashish Baldi, Dean, R&D, MRSPTU, Bathinda was Guest of Honor of the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the program. Hundreds of faculty from various pharmacy colleges across nation registered as participants.

Dr. Bhoop while addressing said that the time has changed pharmacy into a multidisciplinary subject with core research domains, including pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical biotechnology, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics. Dr. Baldi said that over the years, pharmaceutical scientists have been instrumental in discovering and developing innovative drugs that save thousands of people’s lives and improve the quality of life. Now the research has moved to the next-generation era of drug discovery, he highlighted.

On the occasion Dr. Prasanta Das, Principal, Aryans College of Pharmacy & Dr. Krishna Singla, Principal, Aryans Pharmacy College were present. Various pharmacy topics including Analysis and pharmaceutical quality assurance, Clinical pharmacology and translational research, Drug discovery & Development, Manufacturing science and engineering, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Drug metabolism, Regulatory science, ensuring quality and safety etc. will be  discussed during these 6 days.

Aryans engineering students bags gold medals in IKGPTU merit list

In the recently released merit list of IKGPTU, Jalandhar, the Students of Aryans College of Engineering, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh have brought laurels to their institution by bagging two gold medals and securing four positions in the merit list.

As per university merit list the gold medal & 1st position was bagged by Mr. Sameer Javaid from B.Tech Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) from 2014-2018 batch securing 84.92% marks while another gold medal & 1st position was bagged by  Mr. Amandeep Singh from B.Tech EEE, LEET (2014-2017 batch) & secured 82.26% marks. The 2nd & 4th positions were bagged by Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah securing 84.58% marks & Mr. Shahid Ul Islam securing 83.52% marks respectively from B.Tech Civil Engineering (2012-2016 batch).

Dr. J.K. Saini, Diector, Aryans College of Engineering congratulated the students and faculty for the continuous efforts and hard work done. He said that the passion and commitment of all teachers to their role as educators is the primary reason for the outstanding academic performance of the college over the years.
