Menstrual Hygiene Day observed at Aryans Institute of Nursing
To highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene, break stigma around menstruation, and raise awareness about challenges regarding access to menstrual products, aryans institute of nursing, rajpura, near chandigarh observed menstrual hygiene day. As part of their corporate social responsibility, students from aryans b.Sc nursing, gnm & anm programs distributed sanitary napkins and educated others about menstrual hygiene.
Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing, Mrs. Nidhi Chopra, stated that every month, over two billion individuals worldwide experience menstruation.
Although a natural and healthy process, menstruation – or period – interrupts lives, rights and freedoms of millions of women and girls, because they cannot afford or access menstrual products, sanitation, and hygiene facilities, and lack education and awareness to manage their menstrual health and hygiene, she asserted.
Coordinator of nursing, Ms. Aakriti Chauhan shared that the sanitary napkins were distributed in nearby villages, schools, and health centers. She informed us that menstrual hygiene day is an annual awareness day celebrated on May 28th to emphasize the significance of proper menstrual hygiene management on a global scale.
