Cardiologist from Mohali interacted with Aryans Students
In view of world heart day, for creating awareness about cardiovascular diseases (cvds) aryans group of colleges, rajpura, near chandigarh conducted a seminar on this year’s theme “use heart to connect”. Dr. Karandeep s syal senior consultant, cardiology, my hospital, mohali interacted with faculty members & the aryans students of nursing, pharma, physiotherapy, anesthesia, medical lab sciences, radiology, operation theatre technology etc. On the occasion speech competition & poster presentation was also conducted.
Dr syal during the interaction stated that cvds impacts the heart and blood vessels that provide blood to lungs, brain, kidneys and other organs & are the leading cause of death worldwide. They encompass diseases that are linked to lifestyle factors like an unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, and thus are preventable to a certain degree, he clarified.
Syal stated that the estimated cases of cvds in India are about 54.5 million. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is behind the death of 17.5 million people every year and is expected to kill more than 23 million people by 2030. About 80 percent of all cvds lead to heart attacks or strokes, and 75 percent of them have their origin in low and middle-income nations, he further stated.
He clarified that any sign of heart issues should be seriously considered, as it is closely associated with your lifetime and survival rate. To avoid heart diseases, maintaining a good diet, having regular exercise, not smoking and drinking, and not eating junk foods are important.
