Distt Bar Association & Aryans holds a seminar on “Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita”
Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)” was the topic of discussion at a seminar jointly held by Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh & District Bar Association, Chandigarh (UT). Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh was Chief Guest on the occasion, while Adv Parminder Singh, Secretary, Distt Bar Association was Guest of Honour. Dr. Nancy Sharma, Asst. Prof., University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the keynote speaker. Aryans College of Law, the Best law college in Punjab and Chandigarh, continues to spearhead significant academic and legal discourse in the region.
Dr. Sharma informed that he Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) of 2023 supplants the current Indian Penal Code (IPC) of 1860 as India’s main penal law. She explained Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) 2023. The new laws comprehensively reform India’s criminal justice system, substituting the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 1973, and Indian Evidence Act (IEA) 1872.
Dr. Anshu Kataria said that this centers on the new Indian criminal code that replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), with debate surrounding its major characteristics and impact on the legal system; the Ministry of Law and Justice held a number of conferences throughout India to make people, including legal experts, law enforcers, and the general public, aware of this new law.
