
Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights
A workshop on the significance of intellectual property rights in academic research was conducted at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh. Mrs. Pooja Kumar, a successful entrepreneur, founder director, and patent agent, is also a government official. Of India interacted with the faculty members and students of engineering, nursing, pharmacy, paramedical, law, management, education. Kumar stated that the entire world is grappling with the covid-19 pandemic, and numerous industries are striving to navigate through the economic crisis. However, a few sectors such as mask, infra-red based thermometer, ppe kit, online meeting tools, media streaming, non-contact based systems, pharmaceuticals and other few have experienced licensing activity, sale of patented product and technology, she explained.
She gave a detailed talk on employing intellectual property rights to achieve competitive advantage. She gave a brief overview of various forms of intellectual rights like trademarks, copyrights, and patents. She stressed the need to protect innovations through intellectual property rights (IPRs) and the possible outcomes of failure to do so. Furthermore, she examined a series of crucial factors, including self-commercialization, licensing, and direct sales of technology to a prospective purchaser.
