
Aryans Law student present sketches to Law Minister Meghwal & Justice Palli

Importance of robust legal framework to address challenges posed by AI was discussed in seminar.
The 4th Memorial Lecture in memory of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Madan Mohan Punchhi, 28th Chief Justice of India, at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Chief Guest of this event was Minister of Law Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal while Guest of Honour was Mr. Justice Arun Palli, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court. The Law students of Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh participated in this session and presented handmade sketches to dignitaries.
Over 100 Aryans BA-LLB & LLB students participated in this event. The event was organized by Sanjay Tandon & Satyam Tandon, Compete Foundation on “Tackling the challenges created by artificial intelligence through the existing legal framework.”
Meghwal traced the evolution of industries in different eras, from industry 1.0 to industry 4.0 and spoke about the emergence of cloud computing, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) and 3D printing. Meghwal further provided examples of The French Revolution, BR Ambedkar and Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in guiding a constitutional integration of AI into society.
Justice Arun Palli highlighted the existing legal tools available to tackle the challenges posed by AI, as well as the potential gaps that need to be addressed. He underscored the importance of the legal system in accommodating the rapid growth of AI technologies while ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability in their use. Legal author Dr. Shruti Bedi emphasised that AI could help address India’s backlog of over 4.5 crore pending cases.
