No relief to the Bihar credit card students even after Court Orders

Students urged Bihar Govt to open the DRCC Portal

    Patna 11thAugust 2019

The Bihar student credit card scheme still could not give any relief to students studying under this scheme. The students have to face disappointment even after the Hon'ble Mr. Justice Anil Kumar Upadhyay of Patna High Court has given the stay orders to the notifications dated July 5 and July 16 under Civil Writ Petition No. 15733 of 2019(3) dt.05-08-2019 at Patna High Court.

Information sources have revealed that the Bihar government may challenge the credit card scheme in a double bench after the Patna High Court imposed a stay on the notification of 5 July and 16 July. Due to this, the concern of students and parents is increasing day by day. On the other hand, due to the last date of admissions in technical courses, there is a wave of fear in the mind of students.

Presidents, Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI) and Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh has urged the Bihar Government not to take any decision during the last days of admissions that will cause problems to students, parents and colleges. If the government wants to make such a rule, then it should inform all the colleges by issuing notification before the start of next year admissions. Recently PUCA has addressed a press conference also in Patna to highlight the problems being faced by the Colleges due to the sudden amendments by the Bihar Govt in the scheme.

In continuation of this, on 3rd August Govt has also issued the other notification stating to continue credit card facility for those who have received minimum one installment. Kataria questioned what about other students whose credit card is under process or at the final stage of disbursement?

It is to be mentioned that the Bihar government had issued a notification on July 5 and 16, in which the government talked about the benefits of the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme only to NAAC grade “A” NBA accredited and NIRF ranked Institutions of the country.

Kataria further urged Bihar Government to increase the last date of admissions in technical courses from 15th August as the Bihar students are in confusion about their admission since 5th July notification.
