Kashmiri students of Aryans Group of Colleges developed a unique android app which gives all info of JK flood at one platform. Named as "Save Kashmir" the App was launched by Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal, Technical Education Minister, Punjab. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group was also present on the occasion.

Developed by 5 Kashmiri students of Aryans College of Engineering the App contains each and every information about JK floods including the list of people lost, list of deaths, donation links, government help lines, affected people and areas, location of relief camps. The App is available for download at Google play store.

Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal while launched the app said that after floods there was a need for such common platform. The Aryans students, in the past have also done lots of innovations and this App is not only an innovation but also a wonderful project for social cause.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that he is immensely proud of his students and the faculty, who worked for 15 days in the development of the "Save Kashmir", which is an open source App i.e., it is easily accessible to everyone.

Dr. Kataria added that the language of the application is Core Java and the software used in Eclipse. The Application Size is 2.93 MB and the Current Version is 1.0.2, it requires minimum Android 2.3.

Aryans Engineering students Mudasir, Adil, Tahira, Aashu and Rumaisa who have developed the App said that "during the flood, on one hand there was disaster going on and on the other hand the rest of the world was extending hand to help the affected people, but there was no common platform for information provider and seeker. We also were unable to contact our parents for the few days and then, we had an idea to develop the App, then we all joined hands to develop this project".

We are thankful to our management who immediately provided us the entire funding for the project along with technology support. The faculty members including Mrs. Neha, Gurpinder and Nivedita who worked with us day and night for developing as well as making it available for the entire world.

It is to be mentioned that, majority of the students studying at Aryans are from JK.
